A WEEK IN REVIEW

We started the week off investigating spiritual things and taking a look at what happens when people meet Jesus.

We discovered that if God exists, then we should take into consideration God's perspective about us. What we think of ourselves should be based on what God says about us rather than what the world says about us.

Then we talked about being confident in our faith, and if we're trying to be effective Christians, Satan wants to do everthing he can to stop us.

That left us with the question of whether or not it's really worth following Jesus. Some of you made that choice, and you think it is worth it.
When you leave camp (if you're reading this, you have already left!), there are going to be a lot of challenges to stay close to the people you've met at camp, and it's going to be even harder to stay close to God.

The question then is, what do you do about that?

1) Remember the armor of God -especially the shield of faith, the sword of the spirit, and to live a life of prayer. Also, practice 2 Peter 1:5-9.

"5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins." -2 Peter 1:5-9

2) Get involved in a youth group and/or church -There are youth groups and churches in Minitonas, Swan River, Ochre River, and Durban. Wherever you live, try and find a youth group that you can be involved in.

3) In School -remember the people you met at camp and try and stay in touch with them throughout the school year. If you don't go to the same school, you can always email. Try and find a way to stay in contact with people you went to camp with.

I hope you had an awesome week at camp! Remember, it's just the beginning to living the full life.
